Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is one of states in India. The capital is Lucknow[?], other notable cities include Ayodhya, Kanpur[?] (Cawnpore) and Benares. Neighbouring states are Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar. Uttar Pradesh has also a border with Nepal.

Uttar Pradesh covers a large part of the densely populated plains around the Ganges. With 170 million inhabitants, it is the most populous state in India.
