New- I'm currently doing a quick survey on the usefulness of weblogs and wikis for sharing knowledge. I'm looking for people to fill in my questionnaire. You can read more about it here (http://radio.weblogs.com/0110772/2002/12/29#a686). (Thanks in advance for helping out!)

Hi there! I'm an inquisitive, happy person. Nowadays I'm mostly interested in the evolution of knowledge sharing scholarly communication. I suspect that online communities are going to play an increasingly important role in this evolution.

Some of my latest thoughts on this topic are synthesized in the document "Personal knowledge publishing and its uses in research" (http://radio.weblogs.com/0110772/stories/2002/10/03/personalKnowledgePublishingAndItsUsesInResearch).

My weblog is called "Seb's Open Research" (http://radio.weblogs.com/0110772/). It is a continually updated source of information and ideas on knowledge sharing. My homepage is here (http://www2.iro.umontreal.ca/~paquetse). In kuro5hin and a number of other online communities I am known as sebpaquet (http://kuro5hin.org/sebpaquet).

I recently started Know-how Wiki (http://www2.iro.umontreal.ca/~paquetse/cgi-bin/wiki.cgi), which you could call a kind of "practical knowledge Wikipedia". Go take a look if you'd like to request advice on solving a particular problem. In particular there's a whole section on how to find interesting online communities (http://www2.iro.umontreal.ca/~paquetse/cgi-bin/wiki.cgi?Find_Interesting_Online_Communities). You can plug your own favorite communities there.

I also kicked off Ko4ting (http://www2.iro.umontreal.ca/~paquetse/cgi-bin/wiki.cgi), a wiki that is a companion guide to the fantastic kuro5hin community site.

See my Metawikipedia page (http://meta.wikipedia.com/wiki.phtml?title=Seb) (not much there yet).

If you're the kind of person who is interested in answers (the focus of this site) but even more interested in questions, I recommend a visit to http://www.edge.org; in particular see The 5th annual World Question Center (http://www.edge.org/q2002/question.02_index). Also see the links that are listed in the left column of my weblog (http://radio.weblogs.com/0110772/).

Hello Seb. Welcome to our happy little project. Have fun. -- WojPob

Thanks! But I'm afraid it won't remain little for too long...

Welcome, Seb! I do find your WikiProject Concepts interesting, but I have some questions; see WikiProject Concepts/Discussion. --Larry Sanger
