USS Tennessee

Four ships of the United States Navy (and two ships of the Confederate States Navy[?]) have been named USS Tennessee in honor of the 16th state.

The first USS Tennessee[?] was a wooden screw frigate built as Madawaska.

The second USS Tennessee (ACR-10) was the lead ship of her class[?] of armored cruiser.

The third USS Tennessee (BB-43) was the lead ship of her class of battleship.

The fourth USS Tennessee (SSBN-734)[?] is an Ohio-class submarine.
