The USS John F. Kennedy (or Big John) is a naval aircraft carrier of the United States. It entered service September 7, 1968.

In January 1991, during Desert Storm, the ship launched nearly 2,900 sorties against Iraq. From February to June, 2002 warplanes from the ship dropped more than 64,000 pounds of ordnance on Taliban and al Qaeda targets. [1] (http://www.navy.mil/homepages/cv67/history)
