Urinary tract infection

A urinary tract infection is an infection of the urinary tract[?]. Some examples and synonyms include UTI, bladder infection, urethritis

Because the female urethra is much shorter than the male and is near the anal area, women are more prone than men to UTIs. See health guidelines at Vulvovaginal health for some tips on preventing.

Patients with recurrent UTIs may need to be investigated by cystoscopy.
