Tokyo University 東京大学 (Tokyo Daigaku) in Japan is one of the leading national universities located in Tokyo. The official name is "the University of Tokyo".
It was one of the imperial universities founded by the Meiji government[?] with the name, "Tokyo Imperial University" (東京帝国大学, toukyou teikoku daigaku)
