United States Highway 131

US Highway 131 runs for a distance of approximately 275 miles in Michigan, beginning at the junction with the Indiana Toll Road near the Michigan/Indiana State Border and running north to Petoskey. It is an important highway in Western Michigan, serving the cities of Three Rivers, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, Cadillac, Kalkaska, and Petoskey. The highway is an important link between Grand Rapids and the tourist areas of northwest Michigan.

US-131 is a freeway from Kalamazoo to Cadillac. Currently, an extension of the freeway north to Kalkaska and a possible link to Interstate 75 are in the planning stages.
