The UNIVAC 1005 was an enhanced version of the UNIVAC 1004 introduced in February 1966. The main improvement was convertion from external plugboard program to internal stored program.
The UNIVAC 1005 saw extensive use by the US Army, including the first use of an electronic computer on the battlefield.
