Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

Robotic aircraft of various sizes. Used generally for reconnaissance, though some now carry weapons. UAVs do not need an onboard pilot and can be remote controlled. Existing UAVs are small planes, though research continues into building insect-sized UAVs.
