Twombly, Maine

Twombly is an unorganized territory located in Penobscot County, Maine. As of the 2000 census, the unorganized territory had a total population of 2. According to the United States Census Bureau it is one of only 5 places in the United States with a population of two people. The others are Success Township, New Hampshire, Hove Mobile Park, North Dakota, Oil Springs Reservation, Cattaraugus County, New York, and Monowi, Nebraska.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 116.8 km² (45.1 mi²). 113.7 km² (43.9 mi²) of it is land and 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.70% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there is one married couple living in the territory. Both are white and above 65, their median age is 68 years. The population density is 0.0/km² (0.0/mi²). There are 11 housing units at an average density of 0.1/km² (0.3/mi²).
