Tulalip Bay is a town located in Snohomish County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,561.

Geography Tulalip Bay is located at 48°3'56" North, 122°17'13" West (48.065629, -122.286872)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 27.8 km² (10.7 mi²). 4.5 km² (1.7 mi²) of it is land and 23.3 km² (9.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 83.86% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,561 people, 595 households, and 377 families residing in the town. The population density is 348.4/km² (900.7/mi²). There are 703 housing units at an average density of 156.9/km² (405.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 55.41% White, 0.19% African American, 37.60% Native American, 1.15% Asian, 0.38% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 4.93% from two or more races. 2.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 595 households out of which 28.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.9% are married couples living together, 13.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.5% are non-families. 25.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.15.

In the town the population is spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 28.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 107.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.7 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $43,594, and the median income for a family is $49,000. Males have a median income of $35,057 versus $30,735 for females. The per capita income for the town is $20,092. 16.8% of the population and 12.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 22.6% are under the age of 18 and 12.4% are 65 or older.
