Tropospheric Ozone

The presence of ozone (O3) in the tropospheric region of our atmosphere is described as Tropospheric Ozone. Ozone typically resides in the stratoshere where it is used to absorb ultraviolet radiation. It can be found as a pollutant in the troposphere as a result of many highly energetic reactions. Often laser printers will have a smell of ozone, which in high concentrations is toxic. Ozone is also dangeorus because it is very oxidising and it will react easily with many compounds to generate possibly toxic oxides. It has been known to cause eye irritation and breathing difficulties.
