RV Triton

Redirected from Triton (ship)

Triton, a prototype British tri-maran which is a scaled-down model of a future frigate. The Triton name is presumably a deliberate reference to the maritime god incorporating the prefix "tri" which relates well to the three parallel hulls. The outer hulls or stabilisers are thinner and much shorter than the dominant central hull.

See also HMS Triton.
