Tristram Hunt

Tristram Hunt (born 1974) is a controversial British historian and broadcaster, who lectures at the University of London.

Dr Hunt's four-part series on the English Civil War, first broadcast on BBC2 in 2002, was regarded by many as gimmicky and lightweight, but attracted considerable attention. Hunt added to this by making an attack on the popular history programmes presented by David Starkey, accusing him of a "gossip columnist" approach.

In the series of programmes concluding the 100 Greatest Britons poll organised by the BBC, Hunt presented the programme advocating Isaac Newton.
