Transportation Assistance Act
The
Transportation Assistance Act
of
1982
revised federal funding of mass transit established in the
Urban Mass Transportation Act
and the
National Mass Transportation Assistance Act
. It replaced the funding formulae with a
block grant[?]
for operating costs. It also set up a new formula to distribute moneys to
public transit
based on need rather than population.
