Tove Jansson

Tove Jansson (August 9, 1914 - June 27, 2001) was the author of, among other works, the world-famous Moomin books.

She was born and died in Helsinki. A Finnish citizen, her mother tongue[?] was Swedish. Both her parents and both her brothers were artists of one sort or another. Tove Jansson lived together with the (female) graphic artist Tuulikki Pietilä.
