herb. It is a
Mediterranean perennial. Varieties include
- English thyme, the most commonly used variety
- French thyme, similar to English thyme
- Citrus thymes
- Caraway thyme
Woolly thyme and creeping thyme are not culinary herbs but are attractive ground covers.
