Thorvald Asvaldsson

Thorvald (Žorvaldur) Asvaldsson was the father of the founder and discoverer of Greenland, Eric the Red whose son was Leif Ericsson who visited North America long before Christopher Columbus.

Thorvald Asvaldsson was born in Norway. He was exiled from Norway during the reign of King Harald Fairhair.
