The racial makeup of the city is 42.83% White, 55.39% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 1.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
