Thomas and Olga de Hartmann students of G. I. Gurdjieff. Thomas de Hartmann was also a composer of orchestral and film music. He transcribed and co-wrote much of the music that Gurdjieff collected and used for his movements exercises. He wrote Our Life with Mr. Gurdjieff together with his wife Olga de Hartmann who was the personal secretary of Gurdjieff for many years. After the death of her husband she collected many of the early talks of Gurdjieff in the book Views from the Real World (1973).
