Tholen

Tholen (population: 23,887) is a municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland. It consists of two peninsulas, the larger one on the south also called Tholen, the smaller one on the north called Sint Philipsland. The east border is formed by the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, which is crossed by three road bridges.

The municipality covers an area of 172.31 km² (of which 91.04 km² water). It also comprises the following towns, villages and townships: Anna Jacobapolder[?], De Sluis[?], Oud-Vossemeer[?], Poortvliet[?], Scherpenisse[?], Sint Annaland[?], Sint Maartensdijk[?], Stavenisse[?].
