Therapsida is an animal taxon within Synapsida. Traditionally, synapsids have been referred to as reptiles. However, the taxon also includes Mammalia, seeing as we're derived from non-mammalian therapsids called cynodonts. Consequently, mammals are also part of Therapsida.
