The USENIX Association is the Advanced Computing Technical Association. It began life in 1975 focusing primarily on the study and development of UNIX and similar systems. It has since grown into a respected organization among practitioners, developers and researchers of computer operating systems more generally. It sponsers several conferences and workshops each year, most notably, the USENIX Annual Technical Conference[?] and LISA[?], a conference devoted to systems administration.

USENIX has a subgroup, the System Administrators Guild[?].
