The Razor's Edge

The Razor's Edge is a 1946 film which tells the story of a man who breaks off his engagement in order to find enlightenment in India. He and his former fiancée are reunited several years later in Paris, after her marriage to another man, and, when he tries to start a relationship with another woman, his former fiancée tries to destroy his new relationship. It stars Tyrone Power, Gene Tierney, John Payne[?], Anne Baxter, Clifton Webb, Herbert Marshall[?], Lucile Watson[?], Frank Latimore[?] and Elsa Lanchester.

The movie was adapted by Lamar Trotti[?] from the novel by William Somerset Maugham. It was directed by Edmund Goulding[?].

It won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Anne Baxter, and was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Clifton Webb), Best Art Direction-Interior Decoration, Black-and-White and Best Picture.

The Razor's Edge was remade in 1984, starring Bill Murray, Theresa Russell[?], Catherine Hicks[?], Denholm Elliott and James Keach[?]. It was adapted by John Byrum[?] and Bill Murray and directed by Byrum.
