The Hospital

The Hospital is a 1971 black comedy film which tells the story of a suicidal hospital head whose life becomes even more bizarre as all of the patients in the hospital begin to die. It stars George C. Scott, Diana Rigg, Barnard Hughes[?], Richard A. Dysart[?], Stephen Elliott[?], Nancy Marchand[?] and Roberts Blossom[?].

The movie was written by Paddy Chayefsky[?] and directed by Arthur Hiller[?].

It won the Oscar for Best Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Factual Material or Material Not Previously Published or Produced (Paddy Chayefsky), and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (George C. Scott). The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.
