The Chevin

The Chevin is the name given to the south side of Wharfedale near the town of Otley. A roman road ran along the top of the Chevin between the towns of Eboracum (York) and Olicana (Ilkley). The modern road there is still called Yorkgate. The chevin is largely covered in attractive old woodland and heathland..
