The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language is a major American dictionary. The first edition was published in 1969. It was larger than the desk dictionaries of the time but smaller than Webster's Third or The Random-House Dictionary of the English Language. The latest edition is the 4th one, published in 2000.
