Temse is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Elversele[?], Steendorp[?], Temse proper and Tielrode[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Temse had a total population of 25,533 (12,696 males and 12,837 females). The total area is 40.13 km² which gives a population density of 636.26 inhabitants per km².
