Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 289 people, 128 households, and 78 families residing in the village. The population density is 27.1/km² (70.3/mi²). There are 138 housing units at an average density of 13.0/km² (33.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 80.28% White, 17.99% African American, 1.38% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.35% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 128 households out of which 21.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.1% are married couples living together, 7.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.3% are non-families. 35.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
