Tamarite de Litera

Tamarite de Litera (Catalan Tamarit de Llitera) is the major town of the comarca of Litera (Catalan Llitera) in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain.

It was reconquered from the Moors by El Cid in 1071.

The local Ribagorçan dialect is a variant of Catalan, which has some transitional traits to Aragonese.
