Talk:Polarized light

I am doubtful about the definition. How the light got polarized is not the essential thing; the physical state of being polarized is, and that should be defined at the beginning. Doesn't light sometimes get polarized by other means than by passign through a filter? And the word "polarizing" in the definition seems circular. Michael Hardy 22:09 Apr 20, 2003 (UTC)
