"Parity is deciding whether something is even or odd."
So parity is a verb? Or is it a person with a rather odd occupation? No pun intended.
It has many meanings but in this article I think it is being used as a noun describing the even-ness or odd-ness of a number. IE: "The quantum-mechanical selection rule states that parity must change from odd to even or from even to odd." Rlee0001 16:57 Oct 19, 2002 (UTC)
