Talk:History of Science and Technology

As Nupedia HST editor, I'd like to have people perhaps use this to outline the major areas that we might want to include in the encyclopedia. How should we categorize entries? What are our priorities? jmlynch
Two thoughts. First, I think there should definitely be categories for failed models - so pre-evolutionary thought beside evolutionary thought, neptunism beside continental drift, and so forth. Those things are interesting. Second, I'm going to suggest technology not be chronological - Titanium and Iron-working have more in common in my mind than Titanium and Aerodynamics. -- JG

Might HST be the index table for entries such as History of the Petroleum Industry or History of Metallurgy[?]?? -- Invictus
What about organizing the primary articles along topic area lines, and then having a time-line showing the major developments in science and significant personalities? -- F. Lee Horn
Great, go ahead! It means a lot of work ;-). Perhaps the task could be made easier if it is divided into sections. -- Di Stroppo
