Talk:Eugen Gabriel Lazar

Redirected from Talk:Eugene Lazar

Eugene was a very funny, creative, and exciting friend. He ALWAYS said something to make me laugh, but he was also very wise and intelligent. I always wondered why he preferred to go out with Chinese or Japanese women, and I figured it's because he was not very tall, and Chinese and Japense women tended to be closer to his height then Caucasian women.

Once when we were on a camping trip, without knowing that I had a major crush on one of my brother's friends (Eugene was one of my brother's friends, but one of the few on whom I didn't have a crush, even though my mom encouraged it, because he was Romanian like me) sitting around the camp fire pit, he said something to me to the effect of, "Anne-Marie, no matter how much you may like any of your brother's friends, because you're his sister, nothing would ever happen, because you're his sister."

Before I left New York to move to Massachusetts, Eugene and I were getting closer. We'd go to see movies together, and when he couldn't get a hold of my brother, he would just tell me what he wanted to talk to my brother about. He liked to talk and I enjoyed giving him advice on girlfriend problems, and he would return the favor.

He was the one friend of my brother's who began treating me like an equal even if I was always the "little sister".

I really miss him, and wish he was still in my life. He was unique and I'll miss his presence, and his friendship.
