Equal rights for people of different races is a controversial ideal. In late 20th Century America, it became a de facto part of American life. Even more controversial is equal rights for women. Some advoctaes maintain that women are de facto equal to men and on that basis should have equal de jure rights, while other advocates maintain that

The above is poorly written and unattributed opinion, which states controversial assertions as fact, fails to define its topic, and fails to complete the final (?) sentence. It is not, in other words, an encyclopedia article. Koyaanis Qatsi


I agree that it's crap, but I'm trying to see if the vote for rewrite system works. If you think that this is a lousy idea to try, or that Ed Poor's unreconstructed comments don't deserve the light of day, then I won't complain if you empty the article again -- heck, it's in the Talk now ^_^. (BTW, don't think that I jumped on this because I was watching it or watching for this kind of edit; it's pure chance that I noticed the empty article the same day that you emptied it.) -- Toby Bartels, Monday, May 20, 2002
