- No, Babiism is the religion started by Mirza Ali Muhammed, the Bab. The Baha'i Faith, the religion started by Mirza Husayn Ali, Baha'u'llah is a very very different religion. It is RELATED to the other in a similar sense to that in which Buhddism is related to Hinduism, or Christianity to Judeism, but they are very different. The explanation of how the Ezali's faded into obscurity and extinction and the Baha'is continued and grew is interesting in that I know of no other historical transition in religion where the elder religion was _entirly_ subsumbed by the younger. so, there you go.
