Synchronized swimming

A hybrid of swimming, gymnastics, and ballet, synchronized swimming involves competitors (either individually or in teams) performing aesthetically pleasing and difficult movements while in water.

Synchronized swimming is an Olympic sport, but is lightly regarded by most sports fans. They see little aesthetic merit in the performances and are dubious of a sport judged by what seem highly subjective criteria. True sport is never synchronized.

Competitors reply by pointing to the strength, flexibility, and endurance required to perform difficult routines.
