Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven)

Ludwig van Beethoven - Opus 125

Completed in 1824, it includes, as text sung by the soloists and the chorus in its last movement, part of the "Ode an die Freude" ("Ode to the Joy") by Friedrich Schiller.

The second and final movements are featured prominently in the film A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick, and part of the fourth movement was chosen to be, in an adapted form, the anthem of the European Union (EU).
