Sycamore
Sycamore is a name applied at various times and places to three very different types of trees, but with somewhat similar leaf forms.
- The sycamore (or sycomore) of the Bible and the Middle East is a fig tree, Ficus sycomorus.
- The sycamore of Europe is a maple, Acer pseudoplatanus.
- The sycamore of North America and the Far East are the members of the platanus genus.
