Swabia (German: Schwaben) is one of the seven administrative regions of Bavaria, Germany, located in the south-west of Bavaria. The name derives from the Suebi tribe, who settled in the region in the 3rd century. When defining the borders of the area by the dialect it's somewhat bigger then the administrative region, part of Baden-Württemberg also uses the Swabian dialect.
