Suspension

In chemistry, a suspension is a mixture in which a finely-divided solid phase is combined with a liquid phase, with the solid being so finely divided and mixed that it doesn't rapidly settle out.

In engineering, a suspension is a system of shock absorbers and other supports which connect a vehicle to its wheels or a structure to its foundation.
