Suffix morpheme

An affix[?] that comes either after the base morpheme[?] or another suffix.

Bound inflectional affixes in present day English:

  • -s third person singular present
  • -ed past tense
  • -ing progressive/continuous
  • -en past participle
  • -s plural
  • -'s possessive
  • -er comparative
  • -est superlative
