Suede is a type of specialised leather used to make boots, clothing and fashion accessories such as handbags. Suede is actually a type of very soft
leather made from
calfskin[?]. Unlike standard leather, suede has a 'brushed' texture and resembles
fabric.
Due to its texture and nature, suede becomes dirty very quickly. As it is not washable, but must be cleaned carefully with special suede cleaners, it is unsuitable for everyday use.
For the 1990s rock band, see Suede (band).
