Strathmere is a town located in Cape May County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 175.

Geography Strathmere is located at 39°11'48" North, 74°39'27" West (39.196762, -74.657544)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 18.75% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 175 people, 93 households, and 54 families residing in the town. The population density is 104.0/km² (269.6/mi²). There are 464 housing units at an average density of 275.6/km² (714.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.71% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 1.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. 1.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 93 households out of which 7.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% are married couples living together, 5.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% are non-families. 38.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.88 and the average family size is 2.44.

In the town the population is spread out with 8.0% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 17.1% from 25 to 44, 36.6% from 45 to 64, and 34.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 58 years. For every 100 females there are 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.3 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $78,709, and the median income for a family is $77,783. Males have a median income of $40,972 versus $43,750 for females. The per capita income for the town is $52,045. 0.0% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
