Geography Star Lake is located at 44°9'36" North, 75°1'58" West (44.160012, -75.032800)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 12.5 km² (4.8 mi²). 11.4 km² (4.4 mi²) of it is land and 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.11% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 860 people, 363 households, and 235 families residing in the town. The population density is 75.1/km² (194.5/mi²). There are 526 housing units at an average density of 45.9/km² (119.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.58% White, 0.35% African American, 1.63% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.23% from other races, and 1.74% from two or more races. 1.05% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 363 households out of which 26.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% are married couples living together, 10.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% are non-families. 30.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
