Spring Bay, Illinois

Spring Bay is a village located in Woodford County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 436.

Geography Spring Bay is located at 40°49'27" North, 89°31'24" West (40.824261, -89.523330)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.0 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 28.95% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 436 people, 173 households, and 125 families residing in the village. The population density is 207.8/km² (541.0/mi²). There are 187 housing units at an average density of 89.1/km² (232.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.85% White, 0.46% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 0.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 173 households out of which 28.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 22.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.95.

In the village the population is spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.6 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $42,500, and the median income for a family is $43,750. Males have a median income of $38,375 versus $20,481 for females. The per capita income for the village is $18,915. 4.8% of the population and 2.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 2.3% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.
