Spencer Abraham (1953 - ) is an American politician. He was chairman of the MichiganRepublican Party from 1983 to 1990. He was deputy chief of staff for Vice President Dan Quayle in 1990-1991. He served in the U.S. Senate from 1994-2001 where he was the only Arab-American Senator. In 2001 he became Energy Secretary under President George W. Bush.
