South Platte River rises in the mountains of
Colorado, flows through
Denver then northeast to
Nebraska joining the
North Platte River[?] at
North Platte, Nebraska to form the
Platte River[?] then east joining the
Missouri just south of
Omaha, Nebraska and
Council Bluffs, Iowa. It is a shallow sandy depositing stream bordered by groves of cottonwood.
