South Clearwater is an unorganized territory located in Clearwater County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the unorganized territory had a total population of 72.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 186.9 km² (72.2 mi²). 170.4 km² (65.8 mi²) of it is land and 16.5 km² (6.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.81% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 72 people, 31 households, and 23 families residing in the unorganized territory. The population density is 0.4/km² (1.1/mi²). There are 121 housing units at an average density of 0.7/km² (1.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the unorganized territory is 63.89% White, 0.00% African American, 36.11% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 31 households out of which 22.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% are married couples living together, 12.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.8% are non-families. 22.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
