Sorrento

Sorrento is a small city in Campania, Italy. It can be easily reached from Naples, as it lies at one end of the Circumvesuvia railroad line (private, not part of FS system). Sorrento lies near one end of the very famous Amalfi Coast[?]. The SITA bus winds along the cliffs which plunge into the Ocean, while several ferry boats and hydrofoils provide more rapid service to Naples, Amalfi , Positano[?] and Capri[?].

The city's sea cliffs are very impressive and it's hotels , particularly the famous Vittorio Emanuelle, have attracted the likes of Enrico_Caruso and Pavarotti. Sorrento itself is a very popular vacation destination, particularly among British visitors.
